 I became infatuated with creating mosaics twenty years ago after seeing the sculpture works of a mixed media mosaic artist using found objects. “Aha!” I thought. “I could do that. How hard could it be?” Well, twenty years and many classes later, I’m still learning; still evolving. I hope the learning and the adventure never stop. 
My work is one of a kind mosaic sculptures and 3D wall hangings.  Commissions welcome.

Whirling Dervish was a description I often used for my beloved dog Samson. His excitement upon seeing one of his favorite friends, be they canine or human, resulted in his jumping into the air and literally spinning out of control without touching the ground! This interactive kinetic mosaic is my interpretation of Sam’s happiness; through the colors and materials chosen, and the mobility of the top level.

Adoration, 2020

Lamp-worked glass inclusions and stained glass.

15″ H x 15″ W x 3″ D

Adoration was inspired by a photo of a bouquet of sunflowers I took while on my first trip to Italy. The image was so strong for me, that it spurred a series of sunflower-inspired mosaics, this being the most recent. It was quite a journey from the photo, to the image in my mind, to learning to do lamp working, to working with a new epoxy medium, to the resulting mosaic.
