These group of trees and shrubs live and grow in areas with low oxygen soil and slow moving waters which allow fine sediments to accumulate. They are specific to tropical and subtropical latitudes near the equator in terms of their locations. Their response to the equator sunlight allow for lush growth and an array of greens depicted in this mosaic art piece. Another particularity is their dense tangle of roots that make the trees appear to be standing on stilts above the waters depicted in this piece by grayish ceramic tiles entering the waters. Finally, mangroves provide for an enormous living quarters for an array of underwater animals as well as those above the waters and within the trees.
This mosaic piece would set itself properly within a coastal venue scenarios amongst other fabulous places.
